Works but could be better

| I wanted a press for pot sticker but wanted the perfect press. I end up purchasing this one and 4 piece set. The both worked fine but I did like this one betted. However, I do want to give some words of warning and caution. First off, It can't be used cutter if you plan to make dough. The bottom is open and not flat. When I press, I don't tend to use the handles cause it wouldn't apply the pressure correctly and could cause you to break if you apply too much to the handles. So I press around the edge. This works great but after 65 pot stickers my hand was getting rubbed raw. Lastly, I have used several store bought wrappers from Asian markets. They are all smaller than the press. Honestly, I think this is a good thing. If it was the same size you would have to much wrapper to filling. However, it does force you to be more cautious cause I've had 2-3 that didn't seal correctly. What I would change? I would have loved it to be made of casted metal, closed on the bottom, and a cutter on the edge of the pleat to remove excess wrapper. |
